Following his previous release last year of "The Sleeping President," DeLand author Peter L. Harding has set his sights on DeLand itself as the charmed Southern location for his new book, "Three Days Later."
Mr. Harding, an Australian from Brisbane, and his wife, Lynne, formerly of Boston via San Diego, came to DeLand in 2003; they have made their home here since, loving every minute of what they declare, is one of the "nicest, interesting and friendliest places" they have ever known.
Mr. Harding added,
"Making DeLand come alive was relatively easy, as the city has evolved in such a way, both historically, with Stetson University, and certainly everyday Main Street U.S.A. charm, when visitors see it for the first time, an immediate reaction is 'I could live here.'"
Book synopsis: Following a Caribbean cruise in "Three Days Later," DeLand bursts into life, from local streets, to bustling downtown business activity, providing the backdrop for born and bred local doctor, Chelsea Martin, to introduce her new love interest, Tony Thompson from New England, to Florida's sunshine, Spanish moss and Southern hospitality, a stark contrast to Connecticut's snow, sleet and slush. As their two worlds collide, love blossoms, however, not without some of life's every day drama.
Available at amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and select stores in downtown DeLand.
