PORT ST. LUCIE -- The Ambassadors of Swing are back for the 2012-13 season with "Tribute to the Big Bands," to be held in the Emerald Ballroom of the Port St. Lucie Civic Center on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $7 at the door and refreshments will be available.
The Ambassadors of Swing band is comprised of jazz musicians from the Treasure Coast, including several who played with the original, world-famous travelling big bands.
Clarinetist Bob Carabia has hand-picked the famous big band arrangements for this tribute. The evening promises to bring nostalgic entertainment to those who experienced that era first-hand, as well as introducing new generations to the energetic swing music that keeps everyone on their feet or at least tapping their toes.
Tickets for the event are on sale at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, located at 9221 S.E. Civic Center Place (on the southeast corner of U.S. 1 and Walton Roads).
