FORT PIERCE -- The Zora Neal Hurston Branch Library is bringing back its afternoon movies program, starting Saturday, Dec. 8 with a month of free, family friendly films.
On Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., "Jumanji" featuring Robin William, Kristen Dunst and Bonnie Hunt will be on the screen. When two kids play an old magic board game they found, they release a man trapped for decades in it and a host of dangers arise that can only be stopped by finishing the game. Running time: 104 minutes; rated PG.
On Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., the featured movie will be "The Polar Express" featuring Tom Hanks. This animated feature tells the story of a young boy on Christmas Eve, who boards a powerful, magical train that's headed to the North Pole. Running time is 100 minutes and it is rated G.
On Thursday, Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m., "Hotel for Dogs" (2009) featuring Emma Roberts, Jake. T. Austin and Lisa Kudrow will be on the screen. The movie is about a couple of children who work to turn an abandoned hotel into a paradise for stray dogs. Running time is 100 minutes. It is rated G.
On Saturday, Dec. 29 at 2 p.m., "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" featuring Jim Carey, Jude Law and Meryl Streep will be shown. The movie follows the life of three children who are delivered to the custody of cousin and stage actor Count Olaf, after their parents are killed in a fire. Running time is 108 minutes. It is rated PG.
