Registration is now underway for the 2013 spring semester at Indian River State College with a wide variety of educational opportunities to launch a career or re-train for a new direction in life.

IRSC offers more than 150 programs ranging from quick job training to two-year associate degree programs and 20 bachelor's degree programs.

Classes begin Jan. 7 at IRSC campuses in Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, Stuart, Okeechobee and St. Lucie West. Convenient online courses are offered every semester.

IRSC has earned a national reputation for quality, while maintaining affordable tuition costs. The college is ranked as the 10th top public regional college in the southern United States by "U.S. News and World Report's" 2013 rankings of best colleges.

More than 1,300 colleges and universities were ranked based on 16 measures of quality, including: student/faculty ratio, class size, faculty credentials, and retention and graduation rates.

In addition, IRSC is rated as the fifth most affordable college in the country according to the U.S. Department of Education's college affordability and transparency list. The ranking was based on average net prices for colleges in the United States with undergraduate enrollment of 5,000 or more.

IRSC's tuition is 40 percent less than public state universities and many thousands less than career colleges and private universities.

The college offers convenient one-stop student services centers to help students of all ages plan their educational and career path and obtain financial aid information.

Financial aid and scholarships are available for full-time and part-time students.
