VERO BEACH -- The HarborChase of Vero Beach team raised $10,716 for the ninth annual Walk to Remember on Nov. 10, which benefits Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County. The team was named top fundraising team for their achievement.

The HarborChase team worked on organizing fundraising events for the past several months to come out ahead of the pack of more than 500 walkers, including "Dining to Make a Difference," a luau and pig roast; "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" cookout and the "HarborChase Hole in One" golf tournament."

In addition to working the events, the front-line associates at HarborChase added to the total by contributing to the casual for a cause fund every Friday.

"We are a very competitive group and it's been a great year working together in our spare time to support the important programs that Alzheimer & Parkinson Association provides for those affected by memory and motion disorders," said Sheree Gough, director of sales at HarborChase of Vero Beach.

"Many of the HarborChase residents have benefited greatly from these programs and as a community, which specializes in memory care, we wanted to do something to give back."

HarborChase, with 16 locations, provides the highest standard of living in its senior care communities offering assisted living, skilled nursing and its highly acclaimed memory care program. Staff celebrates each individual resident with the dignity they have earned and a warm appreciation of the chapters in their life that are yet to unfold.
