Holiday craft show is ongoing
The Holiday Craft Show at the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, running now through Monday, Dec. 31, has added more handmade, one-of-a-kind crafts, both functional and decorative, from the country's best artisans.
There will be blown glass, handmade dolls and books, pottery, unique Christmas ornaments, jewelry and more. It is a place to get all your holiday shopping done, with unique gifts to please the pickiest person, in all price ranges.

Exhibitions running through Jan. 6 are:
Ernst Oppler: the comprehensive works of a German impressionist, 1867-1929
Talismans/D.X. Ross: intricate metalwork, juxtaposed with precious and semiprecious stones.

Mixed media artist showcases at beachside town
Prize-winning mixed media artist Siri Lynn German exhibits her 3-D, pen and ink and framed shell art through Saturday, Dec. 22, in the front lobby showcase of Melbourne Beach Public Library, 324 Ocean Ave., Melbourne Beach.
Library hours are: Monday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed Sundays.
The artwork is for sale through the artist.

Theater classes offered
Brevard County South Area Parks and Recreation is offering theater classes at the Viera Regional Community Center, 2300 Judge Fran Jamieson Way in Viera.
One class will be held either Monday from noon to 1 p.m. or Wednesday from 1-2 p.m.
A second class will be held on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The cost is $5 per child, per class. The recommended age for the class is 10 to15.
Classes will focus on developing acting skills and encouraging creativity and growth. Students will learn the ins-and-outs of acting terminology, rehearsals, auditions and more.
All activities are conducted and supervised by Brevard County Parks and Recreation staff.

Local artist wins award
Lori Pitten Jenkins took one of the top awards at Halifax Art Festival in Daytona Beach recently.
Her watercolor painting "Black, White, & Read All Over" was given the $1,000 award of distinction.
She is a member of Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, located in the Eau Gallie Arts District of Melbourne.

Gallery member wins first place
Witha Lacuesta, member of the Fifth Avenue Art Gallery, recently received first place in painting (watercolor) at the Chamber South South Miami Art Festival for her body of work of abstract watercolors.
