The African American Museum of the Arts will host a closing reception for
Alice B. Johnson artist and sculptor from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec 1, at 325 Clara Ave., DeLand.
A "Workshop ... With Alice, Forces of the Imagination" will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Participants should bring their sketchbook, paints and other gear. The workshop is for ages 10 and older. The cost is $5.

Artists talk slated
The Florida Museum for Women Artists will host an artist talk at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 100 N. Woodland Blvd., No. 1, DeLand.
Many of the 53 artists on display for the third annual juried show will discuss their works. Contemporary artists were selected for this annual show. Art works in an array of materials and styles are on display including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, photography, clay and wood sculptures, and mixed media art.
The event is free for members and $5 for non-members. The general public is welcome. Refreshments will be served. A list of the participating artists and a preview of their works is available at www.FloridaMuseumforWomenArtists.org.
