The Live Poets Society will host a holiday celebration and book party at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at historic Lilian Place.
The event will be a celebration of member Trish Wentling's publication of her first book, "Pruning."
Ms. Wentling will read and an open mic poetry reading will follow.
Robert Blenheim, founder and president of Live Poets, notes many of the members have published books and they will also be present to sign and individualize a copy of their own work.
Ms. Wentling, a Deltona resident, has been with the group for three years, as well as attending a writers' group that meets in her hometown.
Lilian Place, 111 Silver Beach Ave., Daytona Beach, is the oldest home on the beachside. The public is encouraged to come early, at 1 p.m., or stay after the book event and tour it. Tours last about 45 minutes and a donation of $5 is requested.
The book party and open reading are free and open to the public, 2 to 4 p.m., with light refreshments served.
The event will be in association with the Creative Happiness Institute, which will offer raffle prizes to help raise money for future literary programs.

Live Poets Society president Robert Blenheim will introduce the film, which stars Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway.
