Holiday open house taking place Dec. 8
Florida Atlantic University's Friends of Harbor Branch program will host a holiday open house for guests to visit the new Wells Fargo Aquaculture Pavilion on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Ocean Discovery Center, 5600 U.S. 1 North, Fort Pierce.
The event will also feature children's activities, holiday sweets and a silent auction.

Annual event, march taking place Dec. 7
The second annual "Take Back the Night," event will be held on Dec. 7 from 7-10 p.m. at the dance studio of Tryst Downtown, 305 Orange Ave., Fort Pierce, to bring awareness to sexual violence.
A march through downtown Fort Pierce will be followed by a candlelight vigil and speak out for victims of sexual violence to share their stories. The event is free and open to the public.

St. Lucie County Commissioners are looking for civic-minded residents to serve on various advisory boards and committees for future openings.
There are more than two dozen committees and advisory boards to choose from. There are requirements.
