VERO BEACH -- The Vero Beach recreation department has something for everyone this holiday season, such as, the holiday ball, holiday round robin tennis mixer, a community holiday part even a play.
The holiday ball is Dec. 7, 2012 at 7:30-10 p.m. at the Vero Beach Community Center. Come enjoy the magic of the beautifully decorated center.
Dance instructor Ray Duryea will provide the music and host the night of fun. Cost is $10 per person payable upon arrival at the Vero Beach Community Center (2266 14th Ave.).
The holiday round fobin mixer at Riverside Racquet Complex (350 Dahlia Lane) will be held on Dec. 8 from noon-1:30 p.m. There will be mixed-doubles tennis, food, prizes and goodies. Please bring a racquet and while not a prerequisite, those who attend may also consider bringing a favorite dish or dessert for all to share. Cost is $10 for members and $12 non-members.
Join Gaye Formica and John Gager will be serving up tennis and more at the event. Sign up by calling (772)-231-4787. There is room for 40 participants, and the deadline is Dec. 3 at noon.
The community holiday party will be held Dec. 12, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Vero Beach community center. The center is located at 2266 14th Ave. in downtown Vero Beach. The day includes food, live entertainment by Kent Taylor Brown, prizes and dancing. Individuals, couples or groups can purchase tickets. Advance tickets are on sale now at the Vero Beach Community Center for $7. The last day to purchase tickets is Dec.6.
The last special event of the season is "The Christmas Puzzle," an original performing arts drama. The Aerial Antics Youth Circus will tumble, dance and fly through the air while replacing pieces of a magical Christmas puzzle.
This will be held at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center on Dec. 16 at 2 and 6 p.m. Tickets are available at Leisure Square Fitness Center, Riverside Racquet Complex and the Vero Beach Community Center. Ticket prices are $6 for adult and $5 for children and seniors. This is great event for all ages to attend.
