PORT ST. LUCIE - Every year the Port St. Lucie Business Women awards thousands in grants from money raised in the organization's annual spring luncheon and fashion show.
Now through Dec. 10, the community action committee is seeking applications from organizations for mini-grants that fulfill its criteria.
In keeping with the mission of the Port St. Lucie Business Women, all projects chosen must have a primary focus on programs benefitting women or children.
Grants will range from $200 to $500, to be used for small-budget programs benefiting women and/or children in the county. Grant funds are to be used for program materials and not capital projects or salaries.
The programs must be completed by Dec. 31, 2013. Agencies applying will be requested to present the outcome of their programs to members of the Port St. Lucie Business Women.
The committee will review the projects and make recommendations, presenting them to the membership for ratification.
The Port St. Lucie Business Women is a professional organization dedicated to promoting the interests of business women and serving the community in an effective way.
