'˘ '˜Medicaid/Planning for Tomorrow:' The Satellite Beach Public Library, 751 Jamaica Blvd., Satellite Beach, will present 'Medicaid/Planning for Tomorrow,' presented by Aging Matters Inc., at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16.

'˘ Dodge ball on the beach: Brevard County Parks and Recreation will host a Turkey Shoot Dodge ball Tournament from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the South Beach Community Center, 500 Old Florida Trail, Melbourne Beach.

The double-elimination tournament consists of two divisions; one for adults ages 13 and older, and one for kids ages 9-12. The fee is $50 per team.

Brevard County Recreation staff at the Community Center will supervise this activity.

'˘ Golf tournament fundraiser: The 2012 Colbert Classic golf tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Duran Golf Club, Viera, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Now in its sixth year, the tournament is a critical part of the success of the academy program at Viera High School by providing much-needed funding for academy supplies and activities.

Through this tournament, event organizers hope to raise $7,000.

Prices are: $100 per individual and $360 for a foursome. Attendees will enjoy free breakfast and lunch, prizes, a goodie bag, raffle ticket, a hole-in-one prize and golf at Duran Golf Club, one of Brevard's premier golf courses.

Duran Golf Club is located at 7032 Stadium Parkway, Viera.

Proceeds from this golf tournament benefit the Academy of Business and Finance, and the Academy for Digital Arts and Media at Viera High School, providing students with supplemental materials, field trip opportunities and products that pertain to the educational focus of each academy. A project-based curriculum provides internship and volunteer's opportunities, hands-on activities and guest speaker appearances.

'˘ Christmas ornaments: The Old Town Hall History Center of Melbourne Beach presents Zonta Christmas ornaments.

This is a fundraiser to

benefit the Zonta Scholarship Fund, etc.

The exhibit starts Nov. 17 and continues on Saturdays until Jan. 5.

These precious ornaments depict historical sites in South Brevard County.

'˘ '˜Art in the Park' art and crafts show: The 28th annual Indian Harbour Beach City Art & Crafts Show will be held in Gleason Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 (with Nov. 18 as a rain date).

Many vendors will display their work, which includes custom woodworking, hand crafted jewelry, photography, mixed media, acrylics and mosaics, floral arrangements and wreaths, knitted and crochet items, sculpture and stained glass, crafts, pottery, homemade soap and herbal products and much more.

'˘ Exclusive screening event: The 'Song of the Mockingbird' exclusive screening event will benefit the South Brevard Sharing Center Children's Services Program.

Nicolosi, the artist and producer, will host a special screening of the documentary tribute commemorating the 50th anniversary of the landmark film 'To Kill A Mockingbird.'

This promises to be an 'Evening of Inspiration' where Nicolosi and Academy Award nominee Mary Badham ('Scout' in the film) come together to share the intimate stories of the film, the book and the lessons learned by society thru the film.

This screening will take place at the Gleason Performing Arts Center at Florida Tech Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 7-10 p.m.

There will be red carpet photo opportunities, inspirational music, special guests and a dessert reception.

General admission and VIP tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

VIP tickets cost $100 and includes an exclusive celebrity reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m., documentary viewing, complimentary valet parking, reserved seating, hors d'oeuvres, celebrity photo opportunities, autograph session with Nicolosi and Mary Badham ('Scout' in the film), post documentary dessert reception, and a 8 x 10 lobby card to Commemorate the Event.

'˘ Perform at the mall: Tis the season to be jolly!  Warm up those vocals and put on your dancing shoes because Melbourne Square Mall is seeking a variety of holiday entertainers. All types of choirs, dance troupes, musical acts and more are invited to perform at the mall during the 2012 holiday season.

The Melbourne Square Mall is at 1700 W. New Haven Ave., Melbourne.

'˘ Gardeners talk about wildflowers: The Beach Gardeners of Melbourne Beach will be meeting Thursday, Nov. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Melbourne Beach Community Center, 509 Oak St., Melbourne Beach.

The speaker for this meeting will be Vince Lamb of the Florida Native Plant Society.

Mr. Lamb will take about "Growing Wildflower Gardens in Seaside Communities."

'˘ Brevard Gator Club offers $4,500 in scholarships: The Brevard County Gator Club, with a donation from the Brevard Tropical Fruit Club, has three $1,500 scholarships available to Brevard high school seniors or Brevard County students presently attending the University of Florida as an undergraduate or graduate student.

Students must be entering the fields or be presently enrolled full time in the fields of agricultural or horticultural studies.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 30.

'˘ Beach festival: Satellite Beach's Pelican Beach Park, 1525 Highway A1A, Satellite Beach, will be the site for the Ocean Reef Beach Festival Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A combination of food, music, live entertainment, artwork, environmental displays, educational activities and centers will all come together to create a uniqueness never seen before in this area.

Free activities will be provided for all ages focusing on ocean, reef and beach fun such as conservation, surfing, fishing, kayaking, marine art, stand up paddling, sea-beaning and other related topics displayed in revolving educational centers.
