Florida Hospital DeLand received the award for Regional Account of the Year from Morrison Healthcare Food Services.
The Atlanta-based company serves about 585 acute care clients in 41 states, including some of the largest and most prominent integrated healthcare systems in the United States.
Florida Hospital DeLand was recognized for passing the Joint Commission survey with no notations for the Food & Nutrition Services department; increasing sales by 17 percent; implementing a rewards program that allows patrons to use their smartphones to collect rewards in the cafe for healthy eating; and reducing food costs.
Also, Florida Hospital DeLand’s Certified Executive Chef Angel Pereira was chosen for the Masterworks III program by the American Culinary Federation.
Florida Hospital DeLand’s food and nutrition staff were presented with the award by Adam Pickus, Morrison Healthcare Food Services Regional Director of Operations, and Bruce Allan, Morrison Healthcare Food Services Regional Vice President, on Oct. 31.
