Business owners looking to achieve sales goals through marketing may attend a free workshop from 6-9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19, at the Alonzo 'Babe' James Community Center, 201 N. Myrtle Ave., New Smyrna Beach.
'Marketing Matters' will help business owners to understand their products or services, customers, prospects and competitors, and will include a discussion of several ways to market a business.
Ned Harper, Daytona State College Small Business Development Center director, will facilitate.
The workshop is offered by the City of New Smyrna Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. Advanced registration is suggested.

Big Lots to open
Big Lots will open at 1998 State Road 44, New Smyrna Beach on Friday, Nov. 16.
As part of the grand opening celebration, Big Lots will make a $2,500 donation to New Smyrna Beach High School during its ribbon-cutting ceremony.
