ST. LUCIE COUNTY - The Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce is presenting back-to-back entertainment this week, literally, as two popular events share the theater on the same night.
The first event heats up the evening in the main theater when the guitar sensation Benise and his cast takes the stage for the third year in a row in Fort Pierce in a dance show called "En Fuego!"
Called the "Latin Riverdance," the show displays many dances, including the Spanish flamenco, Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba, Argentinean tango, Indian Bollywood, Parisian waltz and more.
With bright costumes and uniquely choreographed dances, the stage itself will even change to showcase the dancers.
Meanwhile, in the smaller, more intimate Black Box Theater, Michelle Shocked will take the stage. Ms. Shocked is on tour promoting her latest album, "Indelible Women."
Her folk-genealogical music influences include Joni Mitchell and her music, featuring audio portraits of female icons such as Amelia Earhart and Ella Fitzgerald is inspiring to her fans.
Ms. Shocked will give an intimate, soulful performance, of not only her own music, but of suggestions from the audience, as well.
Some comedy rounds out the weekend at the Sunrise Theatre, as Peter Fogel will entertain at 8:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre on Nov. 10.
Known on TV commercials as the Whisk "ring around the collar man," he has appeared in more than 20 television shows including "Men Behaving Badly" and "Married with Children."
His most recent appearance was with Robert Klein on his 11th HBO special.
His funny stage performance and voices will keep people laughing throughout his performance.
Benise will perform at 8 p.m. at the Sunrise Theatre, 117 S. Second St. in Fort Pierce. Tickets begin at $39. Michelle Shocked will perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Black Box Theatre. Tickets start at $30. On Nov. 10, Peter Fogel will perform at the comedy corner in the Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $15.
