FORT PIERCE - St. Lucie County Commissioners are looking for civic-minded residents to serve on various advisory boards and committees for future openings.
There are more than two dozen committees and advisory boards, including planning and zoning, the citizen's budget committee and others. These groups make recommendations and provide valuable input to the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners.
The minimum requirements for committee membership are:
. Must be a St. Lucie County resident.
. Must not be related to another committee member, county commissioner or county employee involved with the committee of interest.
. Must not be employed by the same business entity as other committee members.
. Must not serve on more than two county committees (does not apply to ad hoc committees).
Some committees have additional requirements. In addition, service on committees with planning, zoning or natural resources responsibilities may require disclosure of financial interests.
Applications are available on the county's website at: www.stlucieco.gov/BOCC/index.htm (link on the right-hand side).
