PORT ST. LUCIE -
The inaugural youth "Kick-Out" hunger kickball tournament is being held at Sandhill Crane Park in Port St. Lucie on Dec. 15.
Every team participant will be donating 10 cans of food to the Treasure Coast Food Bank in an effort to support needy families in the area. The event hopes to bring in 1,000 cans of food.
There will be eight church youth groups participating in the event: the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, St. Lucie Catholic Church, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, St. Anastasia Catholic Church, St. Bernadette Catholic Church, First United Methodist Church, Holy Family Catholic Church and All Villages Presbyterian Church.
Admission is one can of food per person and all are invited to come and make a difference at this event.
Those putting the event together are seeking a restaurant in the community to donate lunch and water for teams who are working toward a hunger-free community.
