HOBE SOUND - Sailing on the good ship Algozzini, a cruise-ship themed casino, sponsored by Metz Construction Company, proved to be an event packed with live entertainment, casino gaming winners and fabulous tropical food displays.
Upon entering the casino night, held on Oct. 27 at the Hobe Sound Golf Club, guests were greeted with island music, courtesy of the Knights of Steel, a steel drum ensemble made up of high school students from The Pine School.
The casino offered an array of professional tables including poker, black jack, craps and roulette, as well as slot machines.
Casino winners traded in their chips for tickets and participated in a raffle to win prizes donated by Hobe Sound chamber members.
Tim Ellis of CSCI Shell Contractors won an LG 50-inch plasma 3-D television.
Kathy Bell of Jewels by the Sea won a spa package courtesy of The Skin Inn. Florida Power & Light project manager, Charlie Gears, won a designer sterling silver bracelet courtesy of Barton's Jewelers.
Other prizes such as a golf package worth $2,400, a designer floral arrangement, hotel stay, catered sunset cruise aboard a 30-foot boat and a 50/50 raffle prize of more than $1,300 were awarded to participating guests.
