FORT PIERCE - The city of Fort Pierce is seeking monetary assistance from businesses and residents with the upcoming holiday lights display at Marina Square and with its Christmas tree.
Last year, with assistance from Main Street Fort Pierce and the generosity of others in the community, the city received donations to assist toward funding the annual holiday traditions.
Sponsorship for the Christmas tree in the downtown roundabout is $10,000 and the 100,000 red, green and white lights and music display at Marina Square is $41,000 and runs nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 2 to Jan. 6.
"We hope the same generosity and compassion from the community will help bring joy to thousands through our annual Christmas beautifications," Mayor Robert Benton said.
"Any donation will be magical in making this a joyous season."
Donations are accepted by Main Street Fort Pierce. For more information, call (772) 466-3880 or the city manager's office at city hall at (772) 467-3034.
