Rockin' event to raise money for homes
Habitat For Humanity of Martin County is gearing up for the 2012 Rock-A-Thon, presented by Thrivent Financial on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lowe's, 3620 S.E. Federal Highway in Stuart.
Funds raised will help build homes for deserving families throughout Martin County.

Jail for a cause
Local notables will be "Sent To The Dog House" on Nov. 17 from 2-5 p.m. to raise pet food and cash donations for the pets of needy seniors in Martin County.
Pet food donations will be distributed to low-income, homebound seniors who receive Meals on Wheels through the Council on Aging of Martin County.
Those who wish to make a cash donation of $250 can have a person of their choice "Sent To The Dog House."

War movie to be shown
The U.S. Marines and Navy Fleet Marine Force Corpsmen are partnering with the Martin County Library System to air combat film footage of the famous Korean War 1950 battle of the immense Frozen Chosin' Reservoir.
This free public education production, made possible by the Martin County Library System, will be presented at 10 a.m. on Nov. 7 at the Blake Library, located at 2351 S.E. Monterey Road.
