Florida Hospital DeLand partners with Walgreens
Florida Hospital DeLand recently partnered with Walgreens to provide a free bedside prescription delivery for patients being discharged home. This partnership is specific to the Walgreens Pharmacy at 100 E. International Speedway Blvd. in DeLand.
The new program allows patients that are being discharged to have their prescriptions delivered to their bedside, before they leave the hospital.
The hours for the free delivery program are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, if the patient does not want to wait on their prescription to be delivered during these hours, or the delivery is needed after hours, there is an additional service called "Prompt Pick-up." Walgreens will expedite the filling of the prescriptions so the patient may utilize their drive through window.
The patients who choose to utilize either prescription fulfillment option are provided additional education about their new medications at the time of discharge, and again within 48 to 72 hours of discharge.
