INDIAN RIVER COUTNY - "Cheeseburger in Paradise," hosted by HarborChase of Vero Beach on Sept. 27, an senior care community, was the culmination of four events the HarborChase team conducted to raise funds for the 2012 "Walk to Remember," which benefits Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County.
"We'd love to thank everyone who has participated in our events and look forward to seeing them next year," said Kara Anderson, executive director of HarborChase of Vero Beach.
A sunny day in paradise added to the festivities that lifted spirits and tantalized taste buds among those in attendance at the event. Guests enjoyed live music and a cheeseburger dinner with toppings provided by Fresh Market.
In keeping with the "Parrothead" theme, the Treasure Coast Exotic Bird Club was on hand with many of their feathered friends making new acquaintances among the guests.
Other events held over the past several months that contributed to the HarborChase Team raising $6,000 to support Alzheimer & Parkinson Association included "Dining to Make a Difference" in April, a luau and pig roast in July and the "HarborChase Hole in One" golf tournament in August.
"The HarborChase team embodies the spirit of all our Walk to Remember teams," said Peggy Cunningham, executive director of Alzheimer & Parkinson Association of Indian River County.
"Not only does the walk help us to raise much needed funds to support our programs, but they have helped to raise awareness among their participants at these fun events to understand how important our services are to those affected by memory and movement disorders."
The 2012 Walk to Remember will be held at Riverside Park on Nov. 10.
