Haunted house planned
The Bad Luck Bayou haunted house will be Oct. 18 to 20 and Oct. 25 to 27, at the Sorosis Club, 222 E. University Ave., Orange City.
Swamp tours are $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger.

Enterprise Elementary turns 100
Enterprise Elementary will be celebrating its 100th birthday on Oct. 27.
The school will host a Family Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the parent loop and bus loop at 211 Main St., Enterprise.
There will be plenty of games for the children such as the dunk tank, cakewalk, and football in a tire swing. There will be prizes, music, entertainment, food and more.
Students at Enterprise may purchase tickets on Tuesday and Thursday at the cost of five for $1. The day of the festival the tickets will be 4 for $1.
Halloween block party planned
The VIA, Orange City Woman's Club and the City of Orange City will hold a Halloween Block Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, behind city hall, 205 E. Graves Ave.
The evening consists of live music, games, prizes, costume contests for children and for adults, candy for the kids and ""Bettleljuice," the movie in the park.

Woman's Club to hold fall sale
The annual Woman's Club fall sale will be held from 8 to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Albertus Cottage, on the corner of South Holly and East Rose streets behind the Heritage Inn.
All proceeds go to local charitable organizations. Items offered are clothing, household items, jewelry, holiday decorations, Christmas gift ideas, and ""Our Story of Orange City, Florida,'' the Orange City history book.
The November meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Jane Murray Hall, First Congregational Church, 201 W. University Ave.

The Duvall Home hosts fundraiser
The Duvall Home's annual fall fundraiser, known as the $10,000 draw down, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Spring Garden Ranch, De Leon Springs.
There are several new happenings on tap for this year: A poker run featuring a stop at the Duvall Home's main campus, the Hemby Brothers Band will be rockin' the stage as the event culminates with VIP motorcycle parking, a classic car show, the traditional games of bingo and poker, a 50/50, food and drinks and the $10,000 draw down.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased in person at the Duvall Home or online at www.duvallhome.org. VIP and drawn down tickets must be purchased in advance and are $125 and $100 and include entry into the $10,000 Drawn down, food and two beverages.
Poker run and general admission tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the event. All tickets include food at the event.
Proceeds from the event enable the Duvall Home to continue to fulfill its mission of providing the highest quality of care and greatest level of independence for 140 adults with developmental disabilities.
Florida Hospital Fish Memorial earns accreditation

The ACR Gold Standard of Accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.

Dinner and dance planned
The Deltona Sons and Daughters of Italy Lodge will old a "Hobo Dinner/Dance" open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the lodge, 1270 Doyle Road.
The menu will consist of hamburgers, chicken wings, corn on the cob, baked beans, macaroni and cheese. Dessert will be white cake with fruit cocktail.
There will be contest for best hobo costumes. This event is bring your own beverage.
Donation is $15.

City seeks member for scholarship committee
The City of Deltona is looking for an interested individual for appointment to the William S. Harvey Deltona Scholarship Advisory Board.
This seven-member committee provides financial assistance for college/university related expenses to outstanding Deltona students. The William S. Harvey Deltona Scholarship Advisory Board will be responsible for reviewing applications from area students and recommending scholarship awards to the City Commission.
