The local Home Depot and the local veteran associations, AMVETS Post 2, American Legion Post 17 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 4250 are repairing homes of veterans in need. They have been awarding three $15,000 grants to veterans and their families for interest-free loans to be applied to home improvements. Habitat for Humanity, along with Home Depot and the veterans organizations, are providing the labor at no cost to the families. This program is designed to bring the homes now in disrepair back to a sustainable and sound condition.
