ST. LUCIE COUNTY - With their signature mix of Southern pop and country rock, the alternative rock group Sister Hazel will take the stage at the Sunrise Theatre on Oct. 13.
Over the last 15 years, the Gainesville-based band has produced eight albums, with the latest, "Heartland Highway," hitting the stores the day before they perform at the Sunrise Theatre.
The group, known for hits such as "All for You" and "Stay a While," is named after a Gainesville nun, Sister Hazel Williams, who ran a homeless shelter in the college town.
The single "All for You" spent 40 weeks on the Billboard charts, making the group a household name.
Hazelnuts, as the group's fans are called, will hear how family plays such a huge role in the group's music.
"There are a lot of moments that have never been in Sister Hazel songs before," said Ryan Newell, lead guitarist, in a press release. "We strive to give our audience something different each time."
Sister Hazel will perform at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Sunrise Theatre, 117 S. 2nd St. in Fort Pierce. Tickets start at $35. For more information, call (772) 461-4775 or go online to www.sunrisetheatre.com.
