Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?
A. The city needs to aggressively strive for grants to get water and sewer lines down U.S. 1. Also, we need to continue annexations.
Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?
A. Having worked for Orange County government for 20 years, I am very qualified to handle city issues and budgets. I have served as a city commissioner since elected in 2008, and I have seen many good changes within the city.
Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?
A. Naturally the first issue in November will be pursuing grants for water lines/sewer down U.S. 1 through a tri-party agreement with Volusia County and the city of Edgewater. We have lost several businesses because of no water/sewer access. I will also work with the county to continue annexations, which will help to lower our property taxes.
Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?
A. I don't plan on losing, but if I do, I will continue to attend city meetings and do whatever I can for the good of the city. Sometimes private citizens can accomplish more than elected officials. I love this city and its people.
