Carl W. Lentz IV, 36

Daytona Beach

Commercial Real Estate Broker

Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?

A. The biggest issue in Daytona Beach remains economic development. As we encourage the growth of our existing companies and recruit new companies to our area, we will be able to increase the quality of life for our residents. The tax base will increase and we will be able to effectively address many additional issues.

Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?

A. I am a fifth generation resident of Daytona Beach and I have a strong tradition of family, community and integrity. I deal firsthand with many of the issues facing our city through my work and experience on the Economic Development Board. I also have a master's degree in business administration.

Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?

A. In difficult economic times, it is more important than ever to identify unnecessary or frivolous expenditures. I will do that in an effort to decrease taxes for the 2013-2014 budget.

Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?

A. I will continue to serve on various boards throughout the community and will remain an active participant in city politics.
