Clerk of the Circuit Court
Q. What do you see as the biggest issue for the office you are seeking?
A. Budget is our biggest concern. We have harnessed technology to move the clerk's office into the 21st century and maintain customer service. Budget cuts mean a smaller staff , but I will guide the office through the challenges ahead through focus, team building and innovation.
Q. What are your qualifications for the office you are seeking?
A. My background includes managing more than 270 employees at six offices and overseeing a budget exceeding $10 million. I am active in professional associations of clerks of the court in Florida and nationwide. I work with 28 judges and hundreds of attorneys serving our courts. There is no substitute for experience.
Q. If you win, what's the first issue you will tackle?
A. With such pressure on the budget, I will continue to seek innovative ways to triumph over shrinking revenue. I will proudly oversee the history-making transformation of the entire judicial system to a paperless environment, conserving resources and increasing efficiency for the judiciary, agency partners and the public.
Q. If you lose, will you continue in politics?
A. I am passionate about serving the residents of Volusia County as clerk of the court. I have no timetable for retirement. All my energy is invested in managing the office and running for re-election.
