Grants awarded

FUTURES, Volusia County Schools' education foundation, awarded 164 mini-grants to Volusia County School teachers on Sept. 28.

A total of $66,415 was awarded to teachers in amounts ranging from $150 to $1,500.

Special awards announced included:

The Superintendent's Mini-Grant Award ($410) to Volusia County Regional Detention teacher Marianne Henry for "M&M's, Math Mysteries 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34."

The following Creative Awards were awarded as follows:

.$437 to Champion Elementary School teacher Jennifer Samar for "Girls Stick it to Math"

.$330 to Champion Elementary School teacher Lynsey Wood for "Publishing Process for Primary Pupils"

.115 to Forest Lake Elementary School teacher Rosaline Schoenwetter for "Look Who's Growing and Changing, Even Me!"

.750 to Freedom Elementary School teacher Tiffany Blushiy for "Infusing Art and Literature to Express Thyself: A self-reflective Study of Personal Identity through Portraiture"

.$500 to Longstreet Elementary School teacher Joni Ringvelski for "TouchMath in the Real-World"

.350 to Orange City Elementary School teacher Erin Bowen for "We Are the Ones"

. $395 to Pride Elementary School teacher Joanne Miller for "Reading is Fun & Games"

.411 to Creekside Middle School teacher Jaime Davis for "Mary Had a Little Lamb Who Lost all its Wool!"

.$418 Creekside Middle School teacher Becky Ling for "Garden Shed Design Project"

.$250 to DeLand Middle School teacher Peter Dimuro for "Reading as a Writer"

.$565 to Deltona Middle School teacher Maria Bina for "Oh No, I Shrank the Big Ben Clock Tower!"

.$464 to Heritage Middle School teacher Brandon LeClerc for "The B.U.I.L.D. Project (Building and Upholding Instruction through Learning and Design)"

.$400 to New Smyrna Beach Middle School teacher Kristin Bennett for "Magnificent Multi Museum."
