MARTIN COUNTY - The website of Crary Buchanan attorneys at law was named the best legal website in the nation from the Web Marketing Association.
Contestants vying for the WebAward honor were judged on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use.
Scorpion Design of Valencia, Calif., designed and created the site for Stuart-based Crary Buchanan.
Among the design goals was to enable visitors to customize their visit based on their particular need. To accomplish that, Scorpion employed technology that allows visitors to first choose which of the eight practice areas they're interested in and, upon clicking to learn more, to see information about only those attorneys who practice in that area of law and only about that particular subject matter.
They also filmed and strategically embedded separate videos pertaining to each area of law so visitors could easily gain the specific information they sought without wading through non-pertinent information.
Scorpion Design also employed the latest scrolling technology, which offers subtle and seamless scrolling of content throughout the site.
The Web Marketing Association, founded in 1997, is sponsor of the WebAwards. In its 16th year, the WebAward program is the longest-running annual website award competition that names best websites.
Judges included members of the media, along with top-tier advertising executives, web-site designers, content providers and webmasters.
The awards are given to companies across 96 industries, with a goal of setting the standard of excellence for all website development.
"We are very pleased to be recognized by this national award," said Mike Crary, managing partner.
"There are many people to thank for helping us achieve this honor. Our clients were the first to let us know we had done something remarkable. Their feedback has been very positive and gratifying."
