Come touch a truck
The Hands Touch-A-Truck event will take place Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lots of the Hands Clinic, at 3855 South U.S. 1, Fort Pierce.
Kids of all sizes can explore trucks and emergency vehicles and enjoy activities such as face painting and raffles. Admission is $5.

Indian River State College will host a "Pick Your Path" fall career fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at the IRSC Blackburn Educational Building.

Get guardian training
For the first time, a 40- hour professional guardian training course, the first requirement in becoming a professional guardian, will be held on the Treasure Coast.
This course trains professional guardians in the state to care for persons who are incapacitated due to incapacity or disability.
The course will be held Oct. 12, 13, 14, 20 and 21. Local home care registry provider, VIP America, is donating training space for the students at their location on Kanner Highway in Stuart.
Sarah Elmasian, president of the Treasure Coast Guardianship Association, is pleased at the progress this not for profit has made in 2012, its first year as a chapter affiliate of the Florida State Guardianship Association.
