MARTIN COUNTY -
Heidi Monsour, past president of the Junior League of Martin County, has taken on the role of March for Babies co-chairwoman with Chris Stapleton, co-chairman and chief operating and financial officer of iVox Solutions, to raise awareness and important funding for stronger, healthier babies.
Ms. Monsour and Mr. Stapleton have made the commitment to raise $47,000 in new revenue as part of the overall goal to raise $150,936.
"I support the March of Dimes because as a mother of two, I know just how scary pregnancy can be and I appreciate all that the March of Dimes does to educate and prepare mothers for giving birth to healthy babies," said Ms. Monsour.
"Having seen first-hand the incredible impact the March of Dimes has had in the lives of many of our employees, our organization felt compelled to get more involved in whatever capacity we could," said Mr. Stapleton.
"Our involvement is spurred by our employees and this reflects their passion and triumph. Being a co-chair is a tremendous honor and we are grateful and humbled by it."
More than 4 million babies were born in the U.S. last year and the March of Dimes helped each and every one through 75 years of research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.
This year, the March for Babies campaign will focus on recruiting new teams and sponsors to participate in making a difference for moms and babies.
March for Babies will be held on April 27, 2013, at Memorial Park. It's not too early to sign up.
