TREASURE COAST - With the recent layoffs and closing of Digital Domain studio in Port St. Lucie, a planned fall regional job fair is coming at an opportune time.
Thousands of jobseekers are expected to travel to the Havert L. Fenn Center in Fort Pierce on Oct. 3 when Workforce Solutions holds its regional job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than 90 employers from St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee counties are expected to fill the center, looking to fill more than 500 positions in administrative, customer service, IT specialists, legal, accounting, marketing and more.
According to Workforce Solutions, employers at the event must be ready to fill at least one position that day. To help with that, an area apart from the booth area will be available to employers to conduct on-site, same-day interviews.
Job seekers are encouraged to come to the fair dressed professionally, bring copies of their resume and allow sufficient time to visit with all of the employers.
Workforce Solution is a private, nonprofit organization that helps with area businesses, job seekers and economic development. The organizations have a career center located in Port St. Lucie.
