John Carroll High School was privileged to present its 2011-12 annual awards to several outstanding community members.
The annual awards were presented by Bishop Gerald Barbarito and JCHS president, the Rev. Thomas E. Barrett at the opening school Mass on Sept. 6.
Recipients and their families enjoyed recognition during the Mass and plaques as a token of the school's appreciation.
These JCHS supporters were selected for their awards based on their service and commitment to John Carroll. John Carroll would like to thank each of them for their time and for serving as examples of Christian love in our community.
Congratulations to our business partner of the year, KFC of the Treasure Coast, owned by Jim and Melanie Carr. The Carrs own 25 KFC stores in Missouri, Kansas, and Florida, including the 10 KFC stores on the Treasure Coast. The Carr's have been married for 22 years and have three children, Amy (2008 graduate), Jimmy (2010 graduate) and Matt (JCHS junior).
The Carr family has recently helped fund a new scoreboard (to be installed soon) for the JCHS football stadium and previously donated the scoreboards for the gymnasium. In addition, KFC of the Treasure Coast donates meals for students prior to athletic games, for the alumni celebration at homecoming, to the JCHS Habitat for Humanity volunteers, for the faculty and more. Mrs. Carr is also the current president of the parents' guild and Mr. Carr is vice president of the JCHS football booster club.
Congratulations to Mike Cobb, John Carroll's Coach of the Year. Mr. Cobb has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 38 years and has one daughter, Jamie, a 2001 JCHS graduate.

Congratulations to Audrey Willmot, the 2012 alumna of the year. Mrs. Willmot, a 1999 graduate, and her husband, Will, a 1997 graduate, have three children, Tatum, Addison and Liam.
Mrs. Wilmot is the operations manager at Harbortown Marina in Fort Pierce and serves as treasurer of the JCHS football booster club.
