Fundraiser for fallen Marine planned
There will be a fundraiser to help the Marine Corps League Jack Ivy Detachment purchase a memorial plaque for fallen Marine, Ian Zook, on Sept. 22 from 9 a.m.-noon at Auto Zone Parts Store, 10490 South U.S. 1 in Port St. Lucie.

Roast benefit at Yacht Club
Fort Pierce Mayor Bob Benton and Bob Davis, St. Lucie County tax collector, have agreed to be roasted to benefit the nonprofit Main Street Fort Pierce on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. at the Fort Pierce Pelican Yacht Club.
The evening will feature dinner, music and a silent auction.

Health fair at Fenn Center
Families are invited to attend "Choosing How I Live Life," a free community health fair on Sept. 22 that will provide health education, services and advocacy to promote healthy behaviors.
The event will take place at the Havert L. Fenn Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature free food, live entertainment, children's activities, a teen summit, informative lectures and prizes.

Golf tournament nearing
Planning for the fifth annual charity golf tournament to benefit Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services is in full swing.
The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 13 at the Club Med Sandpiper Bay Golf Club in Port St. Lucie. Registration, including a continental breakfast, will begin at 7:45 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. An awards luncheon will follow the round of play.
