FORT PIERCE - What is more fun than attending city or county government meetings, campaigning for public office or taking care of one more complaint from the public?
Well, the Bob and Bob roast promises to be a memorable experience.
Fort Pierce Mayor Bob Benton and Bob Davis, St. Lucie County tax collector, have agreed to be roasted to benefit the nonprofit Main Street Fort Pierce on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m., at the Fort Pierce Pelican Yacht Club.
The evening will feature dinner, music, a silent auction and a public display of praise, outlandish true and untrue stories and heartwarming tributes from colleagues, friends and family.
The event will showcase Mayor Benton, who is finishing his second four-year term as mayor of Fort Pierce and Mr. Davis, the 12-year veteran St. Lucie County tax collector, who is not seeking re-election. The event emcee is Fort Pierce City Commissioner Tom Perona.
For 24 years, Main Street Fort Pierce, has been privileged to work with both gentlemen in the community and it is an honor the organization can say farewell and thanks at the roast for the accomplishments they have attributed to the city and county.
Tickets are $100 per person and sponsorships are available by contacting the Main Street Office (772) 466-3880.
