ST. LUCIE COUNTY - The Home Instead Senior Care office serving St. Lucie and Martin counties has been nominated for a St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce business and industry award in the health services category.
"We are thrilled to be nominated for this award," said Patricia Strickland, owner. "It is a great honor, and a great reminder to our caregivers what a difference their actions make in the community."
The nomination is in recognition of Home Instead Senior Care's commitment to community service through such events as the annual "Be a Santa to a Senior" program, which in 2011 provided holiday gifts to more than 120 disadvantaged seniors in the county, as well as its annual participation in the Memory Walk, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk and the Strike Out Hunger campaign.
Home Instead Senior Care also provides free craft- making classes for local seniors throughout the year.
