VERO BEACH - A tornado on Monday damaged at least 20 homes west of Vero Beach, knocking the roof off one dwelling, authorities said.
Jeff Luther, director of media relations for the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, said no injuries were reported.
Most of the damaged homes, which were in several developments, were mobile homes, Mr. Luther said.
Countryside Mobile Home Park was one of the hardest hit of those developments, he said.
The homes received a varying amount of damage, including shattered windows and damaged screened porches, he said.
Numerous roads, including U.S. 1, were flooded, he said.
