St. Peter Catholic School adds new afternoon VPK school-year class
St. Peter Catholic School in DeLand has begun a third voluntary pre-kindergarten track, catered to families who prefer an afternoon session in the 2012-13 school year for children who reach 4 years old by Sept. 1.
The school-year afternoon VPK program is from 11:45 to 3 p.m., and is in addition to the full-day program (families pay for afternoon care) and the free VPK morning programs already offered at St. Peter Catholic School.
Florida-resident families with children who reach 4 years old by Sept. 1 are eligible to enroll their children in Florida's Free Voluntary Prekindergarten education program. The Pre-K program at St. Peter Catholic School offers a standard 1-20 instructor-to-student ratio in its VPK Program, and class sizes do not exceed 15 students per class in the early childhood division, and 18-20 in the elementary school division.
