Several clarifications need to be made regarding the Aug. 3 article, titled "Town manager up for termination."
Firstly, Indialantic Town Manager Chris Chinault is not up for termination at this time, as the headline indicates, and there is currently no motion on the table for the council to vote on this issue. Rather, the job performance of the town manager was discussed during last month's town council meeting, stemming from dissatisfaction from the mayor and deputy mayor about a recent hire made by the town manager.
Secondly, the article indicated that Deputy Mayor Loren Goldfarb said the dispatch employee had "no training" when she was hired. Mr. Goldfarb did not suggest she lacked dispatch training. Rather, his concern was with the town manager's approval of hiring the employee, who, at the time of hire, was missing a certification.
The Aug. 3 article, titled "Loggerhead: the locals' choice for great fare in a relaxing atmosphere" contained an error.
The restaurant's upcoming event, featuring a live band, car show and food is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 18.
Hometown News regrets the errors.
