'How to Succeed in Business' at Henegar Center

Henegar Center for the Arts presents the Feller Theater Academy's production of the smash Broadway hit "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying." The program is produced through the educational arm of the Henegar Center.

More than 20 actors, singers and dancers are rehearsing under the direction of Maureen Fallon, with choreography by Debbie Crisafulli, vocal direction by John Kurowski and a live orchestra conducted by Robin Ryon.

"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is from the authors of "Buys And Dolls" and is one of the most delightfully irreverent musicals of all time.

A satire of big business and all it holds sacred, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who uses a little handbook called "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" to climb the corporate ladder from lowly window washer to high-powered executive.

Featuring well-loved songs such as "Coffee Break," "Brotherhood of Man," "Grand Old Ivy," "I Believe in You" and many more, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is a rollicking romp for the whole family.

Performance dates are Aug. 10-19, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. at the Henegar Center for the Arts, 625 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne.

Tickets cost $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and $13 for students with applicable handling fees.

Cuba unveiled in two books

Dawn Currie is proud to announce the release of two new books: "In Search of the Real Cuba: A Journey from East to West; From Ignorance to Insight" and "Faces of Cuba."

These books provide a glimpse of life in Cuba, where time stands still, yet takes its toll.

They are the fruits of a physically and mentally challenging two-week trek by the author / photographer that spans the island of Cuba from east to west.

Ms. Currie brought school and clinic supplies to impoverished areas and left enriched with memories to last a lifetime.

"In Search of the Real Cuba" includes more than 300 photos that will stir the mind and stories that touch the soul.

"Faces of Cuba" includes images of the resilient, creative, and generous Cuban people, where they work and live.

These works were made possible, in part, from the patrons who purchased her photographs during the solo exhibition and art sale at the Viera Government Center. The books are available online at blurb.com.

She is preparing for a solo exhibition at the Gallery of Hope in Vero Beach, that opens Oct. 3. Her images can also be viewed and purchased at curried.smugmug.com.
