Samantha VanLoan, 14, of First United Methodist Church of Spring Hill, volunteers with 32 other youths to help dig a trench at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Enterprise recently. In a single day, the youths dug a 3-foot-deep, 507-foot-long trench. The trenches were dug to help lay wiring for new streetlights on the campus. The Florida United Methodist Children's Home provides a safe and loving home to neglected, abused and troubled children from across the state of Florida. The home has more than 100 children living on campus and currently serves another 200-300 though the foster care satellite offices in Volusia, Flagler, Orange, Osceola, Hillsborough, and Seminole counties.
