MARTIN COUTNY -

Jennifer Williamson, an attorney at the law firm of Crary Buchanan, was given the Hibiscus CEO volunteer of the year award.

"Each year I have the privilege of choosing an individual who shows dedication to our cause, leadership and a willingness to 'step up to the plate' for the children," said Tom Maher, chief executive officer of Hibiscus Children's Center in Jensen Beach.

Mr. Maher points out that Ms. Williamson was instrumental in creating and facilitating the sporting clays fun shoot fundraiser. She has been actively involved in a volunteer-leadership capacity since its creation three years ago, ensuring that each event is a success.

Ms. Williamson also organized a holiday toy drive at Crary Buchanan, encouraging staff, attorneys and clients to select one or more ornaments that details a Hibiscus child's Christmas wish list.

Unwrapped gifts were collected and given to Hibiscus, which wrapped and distributed the gifts to the children in their program.

Ms. Williamson has served on the Hibiscus Martin County Foundation board since 2011.

"We are indebted to Jennifer for her dedication and the heartfelt love that she shows for the children that Hibiscus Children's Center serves," said Mr. Maher.

Hibiscus Children's Center is a private, nonprofit agency. Since 1985, Hibiscus Children's Center has been providing safety, shelter, prevention and recovery programs for abused, abandoned and neglected children in St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties.

Crary Buchanan is located at 759 SW Federal Highway, Suite 106, Stuart. For more information, call (772) 287-2600 or visit www.crarybuchanan.com.
