VERO BEACH - Two men were arrested and accused of shooting another man multiple times.
Dominique Desean Helms, aka Outlaw, 22, 4445 38th Ave., Vero Beach and Robert Smith Jr., aka Lil Bro, 21, 5010 La Salle Ave., Fort Pierce, were both charged last week with attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Mr. Helms also was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
The shooting occurred outside a business in Vero Beach on July 7, a warrant affidavit said.
The victim, Avery Lee, told authorities t Mr. Helms and Mr. Smith confronted him and accused him of talking to Mr. Helms' girlfriend, the affidavit said.
Mr. Lee told authorities Mr. Helms and Mr. Smith hit him with their guns and shot him as he tried to flee the area, the affidavit said.
Mr. Lee sustained three bullet wounds, the affidavit said.
