BREVARD - On Saturday, Aug. 11, Brevard's best dressed will gather for a "purr-fect" event.
To celebrate the Central Brevard Humane Society's 60th anniversary, the nonprofit will host an inaugural Tuxes and Tails Gala at the Indian River Colony Club in Viera from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The event will feature a surprise visit from local celebrities walking down a Catnip Carpet, as well as appearances from "Cher," the "Rat Pack" and "Marilyn Monroe." Additionally, there will be live and silent auctions, a cocktail buffet including "pawtinis" and "barkaritas," festive music, and special presentations recognizing the Humane Society's founding members, who were pioneers of the animal shelter, and the community leaders who have significantly contributed to its success.
All proceeds from the gala will be used to renovate the aged 5,300-square- foot shelter in Cocoa.
The cost to attend the event is $100 per person or $150 per couple.
For more information or to make a reservation, call the Central Brevard Humane Society at (321) 636-3343.
