Learn about invasive
plants and animals
Kelly Gladding, an outreach technician for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, will discuss "Invasive Plants and Animals" at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.
She will identify which plants and animals don't belong in Volusia County and why they are a threat to native species.
Her presentation is part of the free Lemonade Lectures series, sponsored by the Enterprise Historical Conservancy and Volusia County. It will be in DeBary Hall's stable, where light refreshments and lemonade will be served.

Low-cost pet clinic
scheduled in Deltona
There will be a lower cost pet shot clinic sponsored by the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animal rescue from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at Auto Zone, 2120 Howland Blvd., Deltona.
This is a cash only clinic for the shots. The clinic is open to everyone, no appointment needed. Proceeds benefit abandoned animals, donations of dry dog and cat food may be brought to these clinics.

National Night Out
event planned
The public is invited to come to Deltona City Hall for National Night Out, an event sponsored by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and the City of Deltona.
This event takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, and is designed to encourage crime and drug prevention awareness.
There will be events in the city hall courtyard as well as seminars inside city hall.

The Marine Corps League DeLand Detachment No. 1144 will hold its fourth annual skydive challenge for Toys for Tots at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Skydive DeLand at the DeLand Municipal Airport, 1600 Flightlight Blvd.

50th Anniversary
St Ann's Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with three days of scrapbooking, cardmaking, papercrafts, knitting, crocheting and more from Aug. 9-11.
Hours are 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The cost is $25.
There is lots of table space available, off street parking and the event is handicap accessible.
