INDIAN RIVER COUNTY - A year ago, several families and friends of individuals with special needs decided it was time to pool their combined accumulation of experience, resources and knowledge and help other families in the same situation.
Recently, the group conducted a contest to choose a name. Thanks to Karen Critelli, mother of Genna, 22, who has Down syndrome, the name for the group is Parents/Families Educating and Exchanging Resources or Peer.
The Peer Group is sponsored by SunUp ARC, a nonprofit agency dedicated to meeting the needs of people with developmental disabilities in Indian River County.
