INDIAN RIVER COUNTY - Dennis Bartholomew was introduced as the new interim, executive director of The Source and interim CEO of the Camp Haven program, effective July 16.
Mr. Bartholomew is an experienced professional who brings many years of leadership in serving the homeless and disadvantaged.
As executive director of Sun Up, Mr. Bartholomew was responsible for managing programs involving individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and various others disabilities. Prior to joining Sun Up, Mr. Bartholomew worked for the Homeless Family Center as its development director and has extensive experience in helping the homeless, poor and needy.
Mr. Bartholomew will build on a strong foundation laid by Tom King and Sonya Morrison and lead The Source and Camp Haven into a new phase of development, focusing on meeting the needs of the homeless and indigent in the county.
The Source would like to thank the board of directors, Ms. Morrison, and staff for their great work and for ensuring such a smooth and effective transition.
The Source is a Christian ministry for homeless individuals and families at-risk. The Source is open six days a week to provide people in need with nourishment for the body and soul.
The ministry offers daily hot meals, an emergency food pantry, clothing, showers, counseling support groups and a host of other services. They are located at 1015 Commerce Ave. in Vero Beach.
