Course on the roll of mysticism offered

The New Smyrna Beach Interfaith Theology Club will hold a new 12-week video course on mysticism starting July 31.

The club meets at 3 p.m. each Tuesday at the Coronado Community United Methodist Church.

The sessions last about 90 minutes usually beginning with a 30-minute video presentation of an influential scholar followed by a give and take, Q&A discussion period.

Professor Marcus Borg will begin the course with a 45-minute lecture Tuesday, July 31, looking at key terms and notions surrounding the idea of "mysticism" (and it's reputable and disreputable past).

The video will be followed by a discussion on how group members react to the ideas of "mysticism" found in Mr. Borg's presentation.

All are welcome and the course is free to the public.

For more information, call (386) 314-9288.
