The Advocates for the Rights of the Challenged of Martin County received a grant for $20,000 from Publix Super Markets and its Food For All program.
Food For All is a six-week fundraising campaign that gives Publix customers the opportunity to make a $1, $3 or $5 contributions each time they pay for their groceries.
"Our customers and associates were exceptional in their support of our annual holiday season Food For All campaign," said Bill Fauerbach, Publix Miami division's vice president of retail operations.
"Our 2011 program exceeded all expectations and we are thrilled with the results."
The ARC of Martin County, incorporated in 1956, is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting and supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities achieve their fullest potential.
The ARC provides assistance and support to more than 250 people who have physical or developmental disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and Prader-Willi syndrome. The ARC provides more than 100,000 meals each year and the Food For All program is a great partnership that allows them to fulfill this need.
